Cats
|
| Is there a furry feline friend in your life? Cats can be wonderful companions and often times provide a great deal of entertainment for the people that they share their lives with. Cats are generally easy to care for, and as your cat's health care provider, we will help you establish the best care regime possible for your beloved pet. Vaccinating your cat against major diseases is the first important step. We also strongly urge our clients to consider the benefits of spaying/neutering their cat. Visit our Library to learn more about our vaccination recommendations and the benefits of spaying/neutering. Animals that have routine healthcare live longer healthier lives.... let us help you care for your special friend. |
Recommended Vaccination Schedule for Cats/Kittens

12 - 16 weeks of age

- FVRCP-#3 (Feline Viral Rhinotrocheitis/ Calicivirus/ Panleukopenia)
After completion of the full series of vaccinations as listed above, the Rabies, FVRCP, and Leukemia will be given in one year. Then Rabies every year, Leukemia every two years, and FVRCP every three years.
*Because feline rabies vaccines have a higher reaction incidence we continue to vaccinate our cats once a year with a nonadjuvanted 1-year vaccine from Merial. This vaccine has been purified to have a lower reaction incidence.
**FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis) is a deadly viral disease with no known cure. There is some controversy as to the vaccine's effectiveness, and we do not include it as part of our recommended vaccinations.
